About Me

Hello, Everyone! My name is Michelle and I’ve been cooking for 16 years. I’ve also been vegan for a little over a year now.

 

I know how it feels to start something new. The very first thing I properly “cooked” (on the stove and not in the microwave) was a pound of hamburger when I was just 12 years old. My mother told me to do it, and like the clueless child I was put the meat in a pan, turned the heat on, and walked away from it. It didn’t quite burn, but I’m sure you get the idea. My mother was furious. I do admit to heating up canned soups and canned pastas before this incident, but never anything more than that. That was back in my omnivorous days, but now I cook and eat only plants. After just a few substitutions, I found that I didn’t have to lose taste or quality.

 

I created this website to help people understand that cooking can be easy, and even enjoyable. It’s nothing to be afraid of. I’ll be sharing my personal experiences, along with tips and tricks that I’ve picked up over the years. I may not be a professionally trained chef, but I do love to cook!

Now, a bit about me:

 

I’m 28 years old, and one of my passions is cooking. I love to experiment with recipes to find new and interesting things, even if they don’t work. Don’t put cinnamon, chicken, and veggies in a slow cooker, it doesn’t turn out well in my opinion.

 

I dabble in all sorts of cuisines, and am always willing to try new dishes. Since I am a vegan, my recipes will definitely have no meat, dairy, eggs, or even honey, but don’t let this discourage you, I can make the most amazing bean and mock meat enchilada, with that yummy cheesy taste that everyone will love.

 

That being said, I am addicted to all things chocolate. I don’t eat nearly as healthy as I should. I do buy non-dairy ice cream and frozen dinners on occasion. My favorite salty snack will most likely always be dip and chips. Mashed potatoes and gravy are a favorite of mine. I’m also the weird one that eats lettuce plain because I love the taste of romaine.
