Veestro Meal Plan Review: Worth the Hype?

Some might say it’s the fact that there are no preservatives, while others are happy with fully prepped meals. They have gluten free, kosher, or both meal packs ready for perusal. They are also on the less expensive end of the scale, especially since everything is organic.

My Thoughts

The quality of the food is outstanding! From the first bite of their Mushroom Risotto, that I heated in the microwave, I could tell that is was made from the highest quality of ingredients. Their food is most definitely some of the best quality foods, and I’m even talking about stuff I cook from fresh foods at home. The 3 Layer Scramble was the only let down as far as quality goes, and I’m planning to order it again to see if that’s the way it normally comes, or if it was a goof on their part. They seemed to attempt to try and add fake “cheese” on top that turned out to be nothing but oil with no flavor whatsoever.

As far as taste this is another home run for me. Most of the food way yummy, and seasoned perfectly to my palette. There were 2 items that fell short on this one. The Oatmeal Breakfast Pie was a little bland, but nothing a good dash or 2 of cinnamon can’t cure. The Johnny Appleseed juice they sent was a complete bust. It’s halfway between a juice and a not so blended smoothie. If you aren’t a fan of extra or extreme pulp in your juice then steer clear. The taste was okay, like a normal green juice, but I could not get through the texture.

Now, on to quantity. And by that, I mean the amount of food in each meal. These are light meals to me. They could also be considered a heavy snack. They don’t fill me up as much as I’d like, but then I’m needing to lose some serious weight, so maybe they are good after all. The meals themselves that I received range in calories from about 350-500, so if you’re eating three meals a day then 1,050-1,500 calories. For someone wanting to eat a 2,000-2,200 calorie a day diet, that is a lot of snacking. In some cases it is less than half of their daily caloric intake. For me, the main bulk of my calories should come at meals, and this doesn’t do it for me. Just something to keep in mind.

11 of the 12 meals that I got can be heated in the microwave, and come out quite well. Not sure if it’s my microwave, but a lot of these required more time than what was on the packaging.

Overall, I would definitely buy again. I am planning on doing an a la carte menu so I can try even more different options, and definitely ordering at least one, if not all three, of the desserts since sweets are definitely my thing.

  1. What a cool company! I love that they deliver nationwide, all vegan eats, and so many options! I’ve never tried a food delivery and I’m wondering why one would choose to do that? Does it save you much money on groceries? I’m not sure if it would actually be affordable to me to use their service, but I am intrigued by it. I know there are plenty of days where I come home from work and can barely manage to throw a meal together before I meltdown from hunger. Having a wholesome meal ready to go would be pretty great. Their recipes look amazing too.

Love your site, I’m going to look around a little more.

    1. Hi Leah!

      Thanks for commenting.

I admit it’s probably more to do with convenience than money. Of course I managed to stretch these meals out for a good couple of weeks by only using them when I was exhausted from my day job, but the flavor is definitely out of this world, and it’s something that someone who wants to know more about a vegan diet but doesn’t necessarily know how to cook one can grab.

Hope you find my site informative and enjoyable!

  2. My mom was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, and she has recently moved in the direction of becoming a vegan.
I think the Veestro meal delivery would be great for her. Especially in the beginning as she learns more about the Vegan way.
I am going to share this with her so she can check it out!
Thanks so much for sharing this service, I think it could help her along her rough journey ahead!
